Description
Built in 1968, Playa del Dragon, as the Pena family call her, has never been just a “house” – she has always been a home. The first owners who built her lived here about 25 years and raised their 3 boys. The next owners, Michéle and Amandio Silva lived here about 12 years and raised their 2 beautiful girls. They imported the tile in the kitchen from Portugal (Amadnio’s home country).
LOVE Playa del Dragon. We were blessed to be the 3rd owners of this awesome house. We bought the house is 2004. We had fun transforming the house to the beauty she is today. In 2008 we built a pool, outdoor kitchen, added landscaping, and remodeled the outside of the house. In 2015 we remodeled the inside — still retaining much of the original Lake Cottage charm. One of the things we loved most is the feeling of living in a “Nature Sanctuary”. We enjoyed an abundance of birds, hummingbirds, deer, armadillo (we had a regular pair have babies every year), raccoon, etc. So glad to see this gem honored in Lakeway’s First 300!
